Who are we? Kegites club consists of Africans and Blacks who comes together to share the commonality of culture in a diverse way. We celebrate and entertain people, period and culture that is rich in Africans and Black traditions. Regardless of where you come from in the globe kegites club welcomes you as long as you are black and African although we respect cultures and boundaries of others who are not black or Africans but this our own. During the Stone Age a lot of things erupted and many of our ancestors were disrupted and dissipated from their way of life and things they belief in during the invasion by the slave masters who carted away not just their belongings but characters as well and that is what is going on today with distribution of black population worldwide where some are in south Asian, Australia, black American and even in Mongolia while those that were left remains in African. Believe it or not African still stand out than any other continent for their rich in cultures and the vegetation and that is the genealogy and development of this group.
What we stand for? We stand to promote African and black cultures and re-unite the cultures of our ancestors and heritage back to all our Blacks worldwide through the palm tree which invariably produces palm wine which about the only thing in modern history that white man has been unable to change it course of history. The palm tree itself is a plant with green vegetation such as evergreen leaves throughout the entire year or season it will never die. We choose color of palm tree which is green leaves; the juice it produces is white while the keg which is used by the tapper to harvest the juice is brown and these are our colors. The name kegites were derived from the “keg” plus it from the “white juices” as a substance and” palm trees”. We stand to promote our culture using the palm juices as access to promote our cultures because of its unique nature of course it can be found in so many regions all over African countries and Black territories in the world and we stand to use it as mechanism for our unity and for every Black families in the world to come together as a family and create a single front.
What we do? We entertain by playing Africans and Black music using our mono, gangan and the talking drums playing life music and the drink we serve is palm juice which is white in color. Now there is something about the colors, the green stand for vegetation and life, brown stand for the land or soil that harbor vegetation and white is the symbol of peace. These colors shows that we are very loving people we entertains play our music or dress is combination of all our colors which means we are lively, peaceful and full of life. We use all these fronts to promote African and Black culture anywhere in the globe but here in the united States we are the first to bring this idea here and we will continue to do everything within our power to safeguard and promote African culture and as a non for profit corporation the group of people in this club sponsored our entertainment all the time and so far we have hosted three world events in the past called Kegites World Gyration which consists of invitation of Kegites Members all over the Galaxies to converge in the city of Chicago in the State of Illinois here in USA. We look for better days to come and we are in good standing and we hold that certificate of good standing and we take seriously. We hope to perform at the next African history month in 2021.
